BERGEN… my new Love
There is soooooooo much to tell you from today, First Terri, the gal I am rooming with...took the room key and left me downstairs and did not return to get me...you cannot use the elevator without a key, and we only had one! Nice!
Then we went to Kode museum and saw the show Beyond Glaze...... I was entranced by the work and it made me want to do clay...yet again! It was an exchange between Norwegian and Chinese artists. Nice to see the collaborations and the results.
THEN we got to go to S12 Gallery where we met the most amazing people and glass artist. The gallery in an amazing space that offers residencies and classes to the community. I enjoyed our exchange of ideas and hearing about how others have arrived at their amazing work and this stage in their life!
The people at S12 suggested we go up the vernacular to the top of the mountain right here in downtown Bergen . We noticed lots of small children and babies going up the mountain so I spoke to several of the boys on the way up that had sleds, or what I would call a toboggan, and they told me that for 90 Krone they can ride up the hill all day and slide down. They graciously let me take their photo which I will include.
We are off to dinner..... I leave for Kirkeness tomorrow so will write when I can.
