To Bergen
So yesterday I left Oslo by train, yes dragging my incredibly heavy suitcases with me for Bergen on the coast. It was a 6 hour train ride of pure delight. we were surrounded on the train by many different languages and people going into the mountains to ski for the weekend. What a delightful way to travel! So as we rode higher and higher you noticed the snow draped trees getting smaller and smaller and then, no trees..only snow in all its delight making patterns and covering houses nearly to their roofs. And then on the other side of the mountain , the rocks where dripping in moss, I could not help but think of Christian Bernard Singer and his work, and how he would enjoy this place. Upon arrival at Bergen , no taxi could be found so we dragged our heavy suit cases, through snow to the many odd looks of people on the street, and when we got to the hotel, they had us booked in a attic room with a steep set of stairs up.....I really need to learn to travel lighter. Bergen is a visual delight. An amazingly beautiful town on the edge of the ocean. I will write more about it later but if you get the dance to be here you really must come visit. And for dinner Salmon baked in sour cream... ahhhhh
