From observer to participant

So how easy it is to move to participant.   I had friends from the states arrive!   We walked giggled, laughed and ate some great pizza for dinner.  Well 2 of us did, one of my friends was so zapped from the plane ride...she could not get out of bed!  It did not matter that no one around us was speaking our language we could engage and share and discover.  

We did see a general strike today.  I believe it was the public transportation workers protesting government trying to force them into working more than 7.5 hr days.   I will try to find out more today as this was a really large crowd and very interesting for me  being from a place where many people work 12 hr days.
